John Martin owns the former Goose Green Labour Club now known as Goose Green Sports and Social Club.
31 years ago John Martin and Frankie Barrow hosted a show at the club for a young man who needed a wheelchair. This show was part of a fundraising day that Doreen Taylor had organised.
The monies raised exceeded the amount needed for the purchase of the wheelchair and The Wheelchair Fund was formed.
John Martin and Frankie Barrow are hosting a show on Friday 18th November 2011 at Goose Green Sports & Social club in aid of The Wheelchair Fund from 7pm.
Tickets are £2:00 and are available from the club or you can pay on door.
We would like all past and present members to come along to relive the night 31 years ago. Also we would like all supporters of the fund to come and have a fabulous time and help us to raise the funds we so desperately need to provide the motability equipment for our beneficiaries within Wigan & Leigh Borough.
