Simon's Story

Simon suffered a broken neck in a car accident, causing severe nerve damage which resulted in having to have his right arm amputated. With great difficulty he can manage to walk a few steps indoors with the aid of crutches, but was unable to venture outside.

The Wheelchair Fund provided a wheelchair with left hand control, specially adapted to suit Simon’s particular requirements.

Simon says: “I’m very grateful to the Wheelchair Fund for their help in providing a mobility wheelchair for me. Chris, the assessment engineer helped source an adapted wheelchair which suits me perfectly. I can now get around independently and use it every day. I feel so much better being able to use my wheelchair to get around the local area.”
