Peter's Story

Peter and his wife have always enjoyed gardening, but Peter found that his disability was making it almost impossible to enjoy his past time. His wife, who is his carer, also suffers from Arthritis in the hands and was finding life very difficult trying to help Peter move around.

With his powered wheelchair and additional accessories he finds accessibility a great deal better, especially helping them going to local nurseries so that he can continue to look after and enjoy his garden.

Peter Says: “Prior to receiving my wheelchair, my wife and I found it hard getting me out and about. Now I use it everyday and it has definitely improved our lives. It has made it easier for me to get in and out of the car and even most pavements and kerbs are now not so difficult.”

Peter now uses his wheelchair every day and is very grateful that the Occupational Therapist was able to put them in touch with the Wheelchair Fund.
